  • Description: There is an opening for computational modeling of materials with irregularities. Examples are fracture propagation, inhomogeneous sharp interfaces, etc. We have recently developed a regularization technique for such problems. This project is mostly focused on the extension of the theoretical results and developing the numerical codes for a few benchmarked test cases in this area.

  • Knowledge and skills needed: The candidate should have a strong academic background. Strong background in mathematics, continuum mechanics, and elasticity is expected. Background in computational technique is highly desired.
