Located in the Mechanical & Aerospace Building A (MAE-A) at the University of Florida, the laboratory specializes in the study of cellular mechanics and biorheology.

Rheology is the science that deals with the deformation and flow of matter.  Biorheology specifically studies body fluids and/or solids.

Current research projects include:

  • Characterization of biological viscous and/or elastic fluids (blood, synovial fluids, ...)
  • Measurement of blood cells properties (mechanical properties,  deformation,  adhesion)
  • Cell damage assessment
On this website you will be able to find information about the different projects, the facilities of the lab, and the people working in it.  The director of the laboratory is Dr. Roger Tran-Son-Tay.
Please, come by and visit.  Anyone in the lab will be glad to give you a tour.
