EML 2322L -- MAE Design and Manufacturing Laboratory
Academic Honesty and Integrity Policy
The following policy and expectation has been adopted from the
Violations of integrity will not be tolerated in
this course. The reputation and
foundation of our University and Department are based on the integrity of each
graduate. Any student who observes
cheating will immediately report the incident to the course instructor. Any attempt on the part of a student to
give, receive, or have in his possession, any unauthorized information or
material during a quiz or examination shall be considered as an integrity
violation which constitutes grounds for immediate failure of the course and
upon formal investigation, dismissal from the program. Cheating also consists of any attempt to
obtain unauthorized information, whether
or not the information is actually received or used.
As in the Marine Corps, perception is reality; if it even looks like you are cheating, you are. Think about what your integrity is worth before jeopardizing it.
In case you’ve forgotten, or never learned, the meaning of these two important values, they are repeated below:
Honesty: the quality
of
being
honest;
uprightness
and
fairness;
truthfulness, sincerity,
or
frankness.
Integrity: adherence to
moral
and
ethical
principles;
soundness
of
moral
character;
honesty.
