Vivek hails from the garden city of India, Bangalore (Bengalooru, dearly). Graduating in the year 2003 from B.M.S College of Engineering with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, he moved on to a professional career in India’s biggest engineering conglomerate – Larsen and Toubro Limited (L&T Limited). He worked as Assistant Technologist at the Technology Centre of L&T’s Weapon Systems and Sensors Division being responsible for the design of some of the state of the art warfare systems like Anti-aircraft guns, Mobile Surveillance radars, Antitank Missile Launchers and some high precision sensor (Target Acquisition) systems. He worked at L&T for about four years before moving to the University of Florida for specialization in Dynamic Systems and Control.

His research interests include Attitude control of nano – satellites using Single Gimbal Control Moment Gyroscopes, Space robotics and intelligent mechanisms.

Currently, at the Space Systems Group, Vivek is working with the team to build a nano – satellite with attitude control capabilities, which the group is planning to launch sometime next year.

Vivek loves traveling; is an ardent biker (motorcycle), up for a game of basketball anytime! He loves rock, country and classical music and practices photography.
