THEORETICAL AND COMPUTATIONAL MECHANICS AND/OR HEAT TRANSFER

  • Title of project: THEORETICAL AND COMPUTATIONAL MECHANICS AND/OR HEAT TRANSFER
  • Funding agency (Optional):
  • Description: Ability to predict materials properties from their chemical composition and microstructure enables discovery of new phenomena and new mechanisms, leading to new theories and new approaches to manipulate mechanical and/or thermal transport behavior. The research in the Atomistic and Multiscale Mechanics Lab aims (1) to develop new theoretical and computational tools for multiscale materials modeling and (2) to predict the properties of new materials using atomistic or multiscale simulation tools.
  • Restrictions/Constraints:
  • Knowledge and skills needed: A strong background in mathematics.
  • How to apply: Send CV with coursework and a description of research interest to Dr. Chen
  • Faculty contact/webpage: Dr. Youping Chen, ypchen2@ufl.edu, http://web.mae.ufl.edu/chenlab/
