Ed Duran

Ed Duran has over 40 years of professional experience in mechanical & aerospace engineering design, manufacturing, and product support. In 37 years at GE Aviation in Cincinnati, beginning as an Edison Engineer after graduation from UF, he led teams that design and support engines, nacelles, and the overhaul business for GE and its customers. In his last role, he was the Senior Executive responsible for technical support of GE’s commercial engine fleets, focused on reliability and customer cost of ownership for over 25,000 engines in service in the worldwide fleet. Ed is currently Vice President of Belcan Engineering, a global supplier technical services to customers in the aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial and government sectors. Ed earned a BSME from the University of Florida, an MSAE from the University of Cincinnati, and an MBA from Xavier University. He has been on Engineering Advisory boards at UF since 1999, and is currently a member of the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering External Advisory Board. Ed and his wife Laura reside in Jacksonville, FL. They have two grown children (Joe & Elena).
