Daniel Maher – Commodity Buyer, GE Appliances

Biography

Daniel graduated from the University of Florida in the Spring of 2017 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. During his time at UF Daniel was a member of ASME, the Solar Gators Design Team, and was a teaching assistant for two Freshman engineering courses. Daniel was also heavily involved in volunteering on campus. He was the Philanthropy Chair for his fraternity and was a Family Relations Captain for Dance Marathon. He also volunteered at Shands each week as a member of Streetlight, a palliative care volunteer organization for teens and young adults with chronic illnesses.

After graduation, Daniel moved to Louisville Kentucky to work for GE Appliances as a part of their Supply Chain Development Program. He spent 2 years working in different roles in the supply chain, touching on fields such as Supplier Quality, Lean, Material Planning, and Sourcing/Procurement. After completing the program, Daniel moved into a Commodity Buyer role on the Strategic Sourcing team at GE Appliances where he is currently working. Daniel is also one of the head recruiters at GEA that comes to UF each semester for Showcase to interview and hire UF students for Fall and Spring co-op positions with GEA.
