Activities

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is a student organization that promotes social, professional, and technical development of our members. Social development is achieved through a variety of planned events, such as barbecue cookouts and athletic events. Professional development is achieved through technical workshops, professional guest speakers from various mechanical engineering companies, and through tours of companies that include Exactech and Disney Imagineering.

At the forefront of ASME are our 5 technical design teams which cater to different interests in mechanical engineering. None of the design teams require any experience, and students from any academic year are invited. Design teams are a great opportunity for students to apply their classroom knowledge in a real world, hands-on environment. Each team competes in a competition at the end of the year with schools around the country. Many of our teams have won national and international competitions!

Design teams include:

ASME is a great way to make friends and grow as an engineering student, both technically and professionally. It is very easy to get involved in ASME. All announcements are made on Instagram, Facebook, and Slack.
