The MAE Graduate Student Council (MAE-GSC) is a student organization composed of current graduate students in the UF Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department. The GSC is led by six graduate students who are elected yearly to serve on the GSC Executive Board. The MAE GSC has over one hundred active members.

Our Mission
To enhance graduate student life in the MAE Department by increasing interaction within the graduate student body and throughout the MAE department through social and professional networking events.
In addition, we aim to fulfill three objectives:
- Serve as a liaison between graduate students and department faculty and leadership.
- Solicit and analyze feedback from graduate students regarding suggestions for improving the department.
- Organize, promote, and support events which further the goal of creating a cohesive, collaborative, and professional department.
What We Do
We host several events, aimed at providing MAE graduate students the opportunity to connect with their peers, present their work, network with faculty and staff, and volunteer in the community.
Our responsibilities include:
- Welcoming new graduate students
- Hosting social events for graduate students
- Promoting research awareness within and outside of our department
- Hosting professional development and networking events
- Represent MAE at the college-wide graduate student council
